I. Purpose of Visit:

The primary purpose of this site visit was to conduct a comprehensive structural steel inspection for the ongoing slab construction at Project G-425. The visit focused on verifying the reinforcement assembly of the beams and slab against structural drawings to ensure compliance with high-standard villa construction in UAE.

II. Observations & Progress Status:

• Shuttering Works: The shuttering/formwork for the slab has been successfully completed, providing a stable platform for the upcoming concrete pouring.
• Structural Steel Status: Beam reinforcement installation has commenced. However, progress is currently constrained due to a delay in the delivery of the remaining reinforcement steel bars required for the slab.
• Work Progress: Due to the material shortage, structural activity on-site is currently operating at a reduced capacity.
• Quality Assurance: During the walkthrough, the existing beam reinforcement was inspected. It was noted that while the initial setup is underway, meticulous attention to detail is required for the upcoming full slab steel placement to ensure structural integrity.

III. Directives & Next Steps:

• Material Procurement: Management is directed to expedite the delivery of the outstanding steel reinforcement to avoid further delays in the casting schedule.
• Slab Steel Placement Guidelines: I have instructed the site labor and foreman to strictly adhere to standard reinforcement installation practices during the slab steel placement. Specifically:
  • Ensure the use of appropriate concrete cover blocks to maintain the required rebar spacing and protect steel from corrosion.
  • Verify proper chair support placement to prevent reinforcement sagging.
  • Ensure all laps are tied securely with annealed binding wire as per the structural drawings.
• Pre-Casting Inspection: Once the remaining steel arrives, a final inspection of the completed reinforcement assembly must be conducted before any concrete works in Fujairah can be scheduled.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

While the shuttering for the slab is complete, the project is currently in a holding pattern awaiting the delivery of slab reinforcement.
