SITE VISIT REPORT: STRUCTURAL SLAB PREPARATION AND STAIRCASE FORMWORK AT PROJECT
Project Name: A-420 , Location: Al-Ghizmri, Farfar, Fujairah, Date of Visit: October 05,2026, Time of Visit: 10:00 AM, Report Prepared By: Engineer Adeel Arif (Site Engineer)
____________
I. Purpose of Visit:
The primary objective of this site visit was to perform a comprehensive structural audit of the ongoing ground floor concrete framing and upper-level formwork for Project A-420. The inspection focused on confirming the full structural assembly of completed vertical elements, auditing the shuttering alignment for the final flight of stairs, and verifying sub-slab formwork for the impending ground floor slab and beam casting in accordance with engineering standards for villa construction in UAE.
II. Observations & Progress Status:
- Vertical & Primary Elements: Ground floor columns have been successfully cast, cured, and stripped of formwork, demonstrating sound concrete consolidation. The concrete installation for the first flight of stairs is 100% complete.
- Formwork & Shuttering Progress: The carpenter crew is currently advancing the formwork for the final flight of stairs alongside shuttering for the ground floor slab and primary structural beams.
- Quality & Alignment Audit: Sub-slab shuttering panels are actively being leveled and tied. Preliminary checks indicate that beam bottoms and side formwork are being erected according to the structural framing layouts for concrete works in Fujairah.
III. Directives & Next Steps:
- Formwork Rigidity & Sealing: The contractor must ensure all shuttering props, jacks, and horizontal shores are adequately braced. Seal all formwork joints with foam tape to prevent grout leakage during concrete vibration.
- Rebar & Cover Preparation: Proceed with beam rebar placement followed by top and bottom slab mesh installation. Ensure concrete cover blocks are placed systematically to secure reinforcement clearances.
- MEP Conduit Coordination: Verify that all embedded electrical conduits, junction boxes, and plumbing sleeve penetrations are installed and secured before finalizing the reinforcement mesh.
- Pre-Pour Inspection: Schedule a joint pre-casting inspection once shuttering, steel reinforcement, and MEP rough-ins are finalized.
IV. Concluding Remarks:
Structural progress for Project A-420 in Gizmri is proceeding on schedule, with vertical members and initial staircases complete. Completing the slab shuttering and beam formwork with high precision will ensure a seamless concrete pouring phase. Maintaining these rigorous inspection standards guarantees structural excellence across all phases of residential construction.
