SITE VISIT REPORT: BLOCK WORK PROGRESS & COMPLIANCE

I. Purpose of Visit
To inspect the progress of masonry works (block work) for both the Ground and First floors and verify compliance with Fujairah Municipality (FM) regulations regarding reinforcement and waterproofing.
II. Observations & Progress Status
- Ground Floor Block Work: The masonry work on the ground floor is substantially complete, currently standing at 99% completion. Only minor finishing touches remain.
- First Floor Block Work: Work has commenced on the first floor and is currently 20% complete and actively in progress.
- Structural Compliance (Steel Mesh): It was observed that steel mesh reinforcement is being correctly laid after every 3rd layer of block work. This adherence to Fujairah Municipality rules is critical for preventing cracks and ensuring wall stability.
- Waterproofing (DPC): Waterproof sheets (Damp Proof Course) are being systematically installed after the first layer of blocks to prevent rising dampness, complying with standard quality specifications.
III. Directives & Next Steps
- Complete Ground Floor: Finalize the remaining 1% of the ground floor block work immediately to clear the area for MEP first fixes and plaster preparation.
- Maintain First Floor Pace: Continue the current pace on the first floor while strictly maintaining the steel mesh and waterproofing protocols observed today.
- Curing: Ensure all new block work is adequately cured with water to prevent shrinkage cracks, especially given the rapid progress.
- MEP Coordination: Coordinate with the MEP team to ensure electrical boxes and conduit chasing are planned before the block adhesive/mortar fully sets where applicable.
IV. Concluding Remarks
The construction at F-154 MBZC is progressing steadily. The Ground Floor block work is effectively finished, and the transition to the First Floor is underway. The strict application of steel mesh every 3rd layer and proper waterproof sheet installation demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.For previous report click here.
