SITE VISIT REPORT: VILLA CONSTRUCTION (FIRST FLOOR SLAB)

I. Purpose of Visit:

To conduct a final inspection of the First Floor Slab steel reinforcement works, verify compliance with safety regulations, and prepare for consultant and municipality inspections prior to concrete casting.

II. Observations:

• First Floor Slab Steel Works (Completion & Compliance):
  • The installation of steel reinforcement for the entire First Floor Slab has been completed.
  • A thorough check confirms that all reinforcement, including bar sizes, spacing, and numbers in both beams and slab, aligns precisely with the approved structural drawings.
  • Chair distances, lap lengths, and overall steel placement were meticulously verified and found to be satisfactory and in full compliance.
• Site Access and Safety (Critical Improvement):
  • As per previous instruction and Fujairah Municipality regulations, a temporary external stair with at least one landing has been successfully provided. This ensures safe and compliant access to the First Floor Slab for all personnel.
  • Necessary safety measures are now in place, including proper edge protection around the slab perimeter, ensuring a safer working environment.
• Workforce:
  • A team of 7 laborers was present on site, primarily engaged in minor rectification works, final clean-up of the slab area, and maintaining site organization.
  • The overall site condition reflects readiness for the subsequent stages.

III. Actions Taken & Next Steps:

Following the comprehensive inspection and verification, the following actions have been initiated:

• Internal Quality Checks (Completed): All essential checks related to steel reinforcement, formwork alignment, and levelness have been thoroughly completed and confirmed as acceptable.
• Consultant Notification: The Project Consultant has been formally invited to visit the site to conduct their independent inspection of the First Floor Slab works.
• Preparation for FM Inspection: Upon receiving the Consultant’s approval, all necessary documentation will be prepared to apply for the official Fujairah Municipality inspection for concrete casting permission.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

The First Floor Slab is now fully prepared and compliant, both in terms of structural reinforcement as per approved drawings and site safety measures. The provision of the temporary external stair significantly enhances site safety. We are now in a strong position to receive the Consultant’s clearance and proceed with the Municipality’s inspection for concrete pouring.
