SITE VISIT REPORT: FIRST FLOOR BLOCK WORK & CRACK PREVENTION
Project Name: Proposed Villa Location: Block M, Plot 315, Mohammed Bin Zayed City (MBZC), Fujairah Date of Visit: November 10, 2025 Time of Visit: 11 AM Report Prepared By: Engineer Adeel Arif (Site Engineer)
____________
I. Purpose of Visit:
To inspect the vertical progress of the First Floor Block Work, verify structural quality measures, and address the ongoing material supply constraint.
II. Observations & Progress Status:
The project continues to advance structurally at MBZC Plot 315, with a clear focus on quality integration:
- Ground Floor (GF) Block Work: Confirmed 100% completion.
- Crack Prevention: Steel mesh (chicken mesh) is being correctly fixed at the intersection joints between the block work and concrete columns. This measure is essential for accommodating differential movement and preventing future stress cracks from appearing in the finished plaster.
- First Floor (FF) Block Work: Construction has reached approximately 60% completion and is ongoing.
- Waterproofing: Waterproof sheets have been laid appropriately after the first course of block work on the First Floor slab. This provides a crucial moisture barrier between the wall structure and the slab, preventing rising damp.
- Logistical Constraint: Progress is currently slowed due to a minor, temporary block shortage in Fujairah, pending the next stock delivery to the site.
III. Directives & Immediate Technical Requirements:
The following instruction was issued to maintain the structural integrity and quality standards:
- Void Filling: The site team must ensure that cement mortar is densely filled into any and all empty spaces or voids left within the block work to guarantee solid wall construction and improve thermal performance.
- Supply Follow-up: The material management team must closely track the delivery schedule for the next batch of blocks to ensure work acceleration immediately upon arrival.
IV. Concluding Remarks:
The quality of block work, particularly the proactive steps taken for crack prevention (steel mesh) and waterproofing at the First Floor level, is commendable. While the Fujairah block shortage poses a temporary slowdown, the site is structurally sound and ready to resume full speed immediately upon material delivery. Previous Report.
