SITE VISIT REPORT: FIRST FLOOR SLAB DE-SHUTTERING & CURING

I. Purpose of Visit:

To inspect the curing process of the recently cast First Floor Slab and monitor the commencement of the de-shuttering (formwork removal) procedure.

II. Observations & Progress Status:

The site visit confirmed the successful completion of the concrete stage and focused on the required curing and stripping:

First Floor Slab Casting: The First Floor Slab was successfully cast on October 25, 2025.
Curing Period: The concrete has been curing for approximately 14 days, which is typically the minimum safe period before removing initial formwork supports (depending on the concrete mix design).
De-shuttering: The shuttering (formwork) removal process is actively underway on the First Floor Slab.
Current Activity: No other concurrent construction activities are currently taking place on the site. Work is focused solely on the controlled removal of the formwork and ensuring the proper curing of the freshly cast slab.

III. Directives & Next Steps:

The following instructions were issued to the site team to ensure structural integrity and efficiency:

Controlled De-shuttering: Ensure the removal of formwork is conducted carefully and progressively, prioritizing safety.
Propping Maintenance: Maintain re-shoring (propping) in key high-stress areas (especially beneath beams and large spans) for the required duration to allow the concrete to gain its full design strength, adhering to the approved curing plan.
Planning Mobilization: Start preparing resources (materials and manpower) for the next stage of work, which will be the First Floor Block Work, immediately upon completion of the de-shuttering process.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

The project at MBZC Plot 420, Fujairah, is currently in a crucial de-shuttering phase. This necessary pause in other trades is vital for ensuring the structural quality of the First Floor Slab.
