SITE VISIT REPORT: VILLA FOUNDATION SUBGRADE & PCC PREPARATION

Project Name: Proposed Villa Location: Block G, Plot 425, Mohammed Bin Zayed City (MBZC) Date of Visit: November 01, 2025 Time of Visit: 09:00 AM Report Prepared By: Engineer Adeel Arif (Site Engineer)

____________

I. Purpose of Visit:

To confirm the readiness of the subgrade following geotechnical testing and inspect the formwork for the Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) layer below the foundation.

II. Geotechnical Compliance & Current Status:

  • Subgrade Approval: Both the Natural Density Test and the Road Base Density Test applied to the foundation subgrade have been completed after compaction, and the results have been verified as acceptable. This confirms the stability and bearing capacity of the base layer.
  • PCC Preparation: The shuttering (formwork) for the PCC layer below the foundation has been fully installed and secured, preparing the area for concrete pouring.

III. Directives & Quality Control Instructions:

The following actions and quality checks were directed to the site team to ensure strict compliance before the PCC casting:

  • PCC Thickness Mandate: The PCC must be cast to a minimum and exact thickness of 10 cm.
  • Termite Treatment (CRITICAL): Termite treatment chemicals must be applied to the compacted subgrade surface immediately prior to the casting of the PCC layer, as required by local Fujairah building specifications.
  • Site Safety & Logistics:
    • All identified issues with the perimeter fencing must be corrected immediately to secure the site perimeter.
    • The accumulated excavated soil surrounding the foundation area must be promptly removed and cleared to facilitate site access and maintain cleanliness.
    • The areas where the density test samples were taken must be properly backfilled and thoroughly compacted to ensure uniformity of the subgrade.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

Geotechnical preparation is complete and compliant. The primary focus now shifts to executing the critical preparatory steps: securing the termite treatment application, adhering to the specified 10 cm PCC thickness, and ensuring site safety and cleanliness (fences/excavated soil). This will allow for seamless progression to the main foundation steel works.
