I. Purpose of Visit:

To inspect the progress and quality of the First Floor Slab steel reinforcement works and overall site conditions.

II. Observations:

• First Floor Slab Steel Works:
  • The installation of steel reinforcement for the First Floor Slab is actively underway.
  • Approximately 50% of the slab area has been successfully prepared with reinforcement steel, indicating steady progress.
  • The quality of rebar tying, spacing, and cover appeared to be in good order where visible, with attention paid to detail.
• Workforce:
  • A team of 7 laborers was present on site and actively engaged in various tasks related to the slab reinforcement.
  • The overall work pace and coordination observed were smooth and efficient.
• Site Access and Safety (Critical Observation):
  • It was noted that external stairs leading to the First Floor Slab have not yet been provided.
  • Access to the elevated slab was being managed through temporary, less conventional means, posing a potential safety concern.

III. Instructions & Directives:

Based on the observations, the following instructions were communicated to the site team:

• Immediate Provision of External Access:
  • Action Required: Immediately construct and install external stairs providing safe and compliant access to the First Floor Slab level.
  • Key Requirement: Ensure the stairs include at least one landing for safety and ease of movement, as per Fujairah Municipality safety regulations. This is non-negotiable for worker safety and site compliance.
• Continued Quality Assurance:
  • Action Required: Maintain the current standard of quality for steel reinforcement, ensuring all rebar sizes, spacing, and cover depths strictly adhere to the approved structural drawings.
  • Verification: Ensure that all bar bending schedules are accurately followed and verified before concrete pouring.
• Maintain Work Progress:
  • Action Required: Continue the smooth and efficient pace of work to ensure the First Floor Slab is completed within the project timeline.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

• Progress on the First Floor Slab steel works is commendable, and the site team is working diligently. However, the immediate provision of proper external stairs is paramount to ensure worker safety and adherence to local regulations. Close follow-up on this critical safety aspect is required to ensure compliance prior to further concrete activities on the slab.
