SITE VISIT REPORT: GROUND FLOOR SLAB SHUTTERING, SCAFFOLDING, AND REINFORCEMENT STEEL PROCUREMENT FOR VILLA CONSTRUCTION

Project Name: G-425 , Location: Mohammad Bin Zayed City (MBZC) Fujairah Date of Visit: Mayb17, 2026, Time of Visit: 11:00 AM, Report Prepared By: Engineer Adeel Arif (Site Engineer)

____________

I. Purpose of Visit:

The primary technical objective of this site inspection was to evaluate the structural compliance, safety, and progress of the ground floor formwork assembly. This includes assessing the stability of the ongoing scaffolding and shuttering systems, as well as verifying the inventory and specification alignment of newly delivered reinforcement steel bars prior to the scheduled fabrication phase for this premium villa construction in UAE.

II. Observations & Progress Status:

During the engineering walkthrough of the deck area, the following status updates and field observations were logged:

  • Shuttering & Formwork Assembly: Installation of the ground floor slab soffit shuttering is actively in progress. The marine plywood sheets are being laid over primary and secondary timber runners. Initial alignments indicate satisfactory leveling, though final structural checks will be required upon completion of the entire bay.
  • Scaffolding & Falsework Support: Erecting the heavy-duty scaffolding staging system is currently underway to support the dead load of the wet concrete. The cup-lock components, vertical standards, and horizontal ledgers are being systematically assembled with adjustable jack bases deployed on firm ground.
  • Rebar Materials Logistics: Reinforcement steel delivery is progressively arriving on-site. High-tensile deformed steel bars of varying structural diameters (deploys for main beams and slab mesh) are being offloaded. Preliminary visual inspection indicates that the steel is free from heavy pitting, oil, or excessive rust, making it structurally sound for upcoming steel fixing works.

III. Directives & Next Steps:

To ensure standard compliance with local site engineer report UAE protocols, the following directives are issued to the contracting team:

  • Formwork Stabilization: Complete the remaining shuttering and ensure all joints between plywood sheets are perfectly sealed with foam tape to prevent grout leakage during the future grade slab construction and casting phases.
  • Scaffolding Inspection: Ensure all scaffolding standards are perfectly plumb and that cross-bracing is installed across all orthogonal directions to avoid lateral shifting or structural buckling under pouring loads.
  • Steel Layout & Fabrication: Once shuttering is certified, initiate the cutting and bending of reinforcement steel bars exactly as per the approved bar bending schedule (BBS). Ensure structural spacer blocks and chairs are prepared to secure the mandatory clear concrete cover.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

The ground floor slab preparation is progressing at an acceptable pace and demonstrates sound early workmanship. With structural steel delivery actively matching the site demand, the project is well-positioned to transition into the rebar fixing stage over the coming days. Adherence to strict formwork bracing checks will guarantee high-quality concrete works in Fujairah, Dubai, or surrounding regions.
