SITE VISIT REPORT: COLUMN REINFORCEMENT AND SHUTTERING INSPECTION FOR VILLA CONSTRUCTION

Project Name: G-425 , Location: Mohammad Bin Zayed City (MBZC) Fujairah Date of Visit: April 22, 2026, Time of Visit: 11:00 AM, Report Prepared By: Engineer Adeel Arif (Site Engineer)

____________

I. Purpose of Visit:

The primary objective of this site visit was to conduct a final technical inspection of the column shuttering and formwork alignment at G-425 MBZC. This inspection ensures that the structural elements meet the specified design tolerances and verticality standards required for villa construction in UAE prior to the commencement of concrete casting.

II. Observations & Progress Status:

During the site walkthrough, the following progress and technical observations were recorded:

  • Formwork Integrity: The column shuttering has been completed across the designated sector. The formwork is rigid, properly braced, and treated with shuttering oil to ensure a smooth concrete finish.
  • Verticality & Alignment: Initial checks indicate that the columns are plumb; however, final calibration of the props is being executed to maintain strict vertical alignment during the pour.
  • Reinforcement Cover: Steel reinforcement cages are securely positioned. The installation of concrete spacer blocks is verified to ensure the mandatory clear cover, protecting the rebar against carbonation and sulfate attacks common in the regional soil profile.
  • Final Preparations: Last-minute “snagging” works are ongoing, including the cleaning of the column bases (kickers) to remove debris and sawdust, ensuring a high-strength cold joint bond between the floor slab and the new column pour.

III. Directives & Next Steps:

To maintain the structural integrity and quality of the concrete works in MBZC, the following directives are issued:

  • Pre-Casting Clearance: Complete the final tightening of all tie-rods and clamps to prevent “bulging” or formwork failure during vibration.
  • Concrete Pouring & Compaction: During casting, ensure the use of mechanical immersion vibrators to eliminate honeycombing. Concrete should be poured in layers not exceeding 500mm to allow for proper air release.
  • Slump Test: Perform a mandatory slump test on-site for each transit mixer to verify workability and water-cement ratio adherence.
  • Curing Protocol: Immediately after de-shuttering (24 hours post-pour), initiate chemical curing or continuous water hessian wrapping to mitigate shrinkage cracks.

IV. Concluding Remarks:

The site progress at G-425 is satisfactory and aligns with the project schedule. The column shuttering is professionally executed and ready for casting. By adhering to the specified vibration and curing methods, the structural durability of this villa construction in Fujairah will meet the highest engineering standards.
